The Spider-Drone Returns in Teaser for Extended Cut of Spider-Man: Far From Home

Just like Avengers: Endgame, Spider-Man: Far From Home is looking to extend its theatrical run with a release of an extended cut, and it hits theaters today. Just in, Sony has released a teaser giving us some never-before-seen footage.

As I speculated, it looks like these 4 minutes of new footage will take place in the beginning. We get Peter visiting Delmar's Grocery, but we never really got to see him use the drone in any of the teasers before. As for the action scene that was promised, I'm getting more and more sure that it's the one where Iron Spider takes down the mob from the trailers.

If you're curious as to why the scenes were cut, it was said to have been done so that the film could get Peter to Europe as quickly as possible. Too bad though, because I kind of wanted to see more of Peter's day-to-day after he and Aunt May got brought back with The Blip. It was said that the cut scenes were going to be a short film for the home release instead, but with the extended cut, it looks like they were able to squeeze the scenes back into the movie.

The rerelease of the extended cut has been met with a divisive reaction from fans. Though everyone loved Far From Home, it kind of feels like Sony had stabbed the fans in the back by suddenly pulling Spider-Man out of the MCU. Then again, Disney is also to blame for the split, but Sony is definitely not blameless here. I'm sure more people would be eager to watch the film if they knew Spider-Man's future was safe in the MCU.

The extended cut of Spider-Man: Far From Home is now in theaters.
