It's a brand new year and along with the fresh start comes a fresh batch of episodes for Marvel TV's The Punisher. One of the only Marvel Netflix series left alive after shows like Iron Fist, Luke Cage, and most surprisingly Daredevil, were put on the chopping board a few months back, The Punisher and its upcoming season comes as a gift to Marvel fans around the globe.
Reminding the fanbase of Frank Castle's (Jon Bernthal) return, the short teaser clip brings us to a dimly lit bar where our unseen protagonist seemingly sets fire to the presidential pardon that he had received at the very end of The Punisher season 1. Frank was gifted a pardon for stopping Billy Russo and his friends, but it seems like it just didn't mean that much to the character because he soon leaves the bar, the ashes from the paper forming the ever familiar Punisher logo.
You can check out the teaser in the video above.
Meanwhile, in other The Punisher season 2 news, Netflix just accidentally let slip the release date for the new batch of episodes for the series. The streaming giant's Middle Eastern and North African Twitter handle shared a list of release dates of the content coming to Netflix in January, and while the list has since been deleted, netizens were able to spot the premiere date for The Punisher's second season just in the nick of time. So Marvel fans better get ready.
The Punisher is making its way to Netflix with its second batch of episodes January 18, 2019.
