The Matrix Resurrections Rotten Tomatoes Score Revealed

The Matrix Resurrections is finally going to be out in cinemas 18 years after the last film The Matrix Revolutions was released. But leading up to the release, there are some people who are skeptical about the new film given the reception of the last two films and the rumored "meta" nature that will make it very different from the other films in the franchise.

Now, the Rotten Tomatoes score for The Matrix Resurrections is out and, so far as of the time of this writing, it is currently fresh at 68% based on the 85 reviews that they gathered. It means that the film still has mostly positive reviews, but is possibly heading towards a more mixed reception. Of course, the score could change either higher or lower as the site is gathering more reviews and we should be getting its final number in several days.

Comparing it to the scores of the other films in the franchise, it is very much higher than Revolutions which has a low score of 35%. However, the first Matrix and the second film Reloaded still have higher scores with 88% and 73%, respectively. In addition, the animated film The Animatrix has a score of 89%.

A score of 68% might not be what most fans of the franchise are hoping for, but it is still a very solid one because it indicates that the majority of the critics still like the film. It is also expected to be divisive given the "meta" and subversive nature that may or may not work for most people. Of course, films are subjective and every single one will have a different opinion which you may either agree or disagree.
