The set photos of The Mandalorian and Grogu confirmed the return of a familiar planet that was heavily featured in the Disney+ series.

Earlier this year, Lucasfilm officially announced that Din Djarin and Grogu are moving to the big screen for their next adventure in the galaxy far, far away. It is now set to be the first Star Wars movie release since The Rise of Skywalker in 2019.

So far, the details regarding the film are still being kept under wraps, but reports have confirmed that production is set to take place this year ahead of its planned summer 2026 release.

The Mandalorian and Grogu Set Photos Show First Look at Nevarro

Recently, the set photos from the production of The Mandalorian and Grogu made waves online, and it confirmed the return of planet Nevarro.

The set design that was spotted in the location is reminiscent of the planet where Din Djarin and Grogu occasionally have their adventure in the TV series.

It was also reported that production is set to begin in a few weeks, but they allegedly already filmed a couple of scenes most likely due to "cast time sensitivities."

Considering that Nevarro was one of the main settings in the series, it's not surprising that it will be returning in the film and potentially become a major location where the story takes place.

However, considering that Carl Weathers, who played Greef Karga, passed away earlier this year, it is curious to see how they will handle the character's absence and who might be leading the planet if he is out of the picture.

We will likely be getting more set photos and scoops about the film in the coming weeks leading up to the beginning of principal photography.

The Mandalorian and Grogu is slated for release in theaters on May 22, 2026.
