It has been quite a year for everyone and as 2023 nears the horizon, it already comes with a promising roster of titles like the upcoming HBO series, The Last of Us. In a new image for the show, it reveals the tragic past of one of the main characters, Joel.

Pedro Pascal headlines The Last of Us as Joel alongside Bella Ramsey as Ellie and in a new photo shared by co-creator Neil Druckmann, it shows the tragic past of the former with his daughter, Sarah, played by Nico Parker, and it portrays one of the most emotional scenes from the game.

The Last of Us is an upcoming HBO series based on the beloved game of the same name that Naughty Dog developed. The show is created and written by Neil Druckmann and Craig Mazin.

Those who have played the game, The Last of Us, know that this scene is one of the most heartbreaking and important to the narrative because this is the very scene that started it all, the first day of the apocalypse, the "Outbreak Day," where Joel flees with Sarah and Tommy.

Lamar Johnson who will play Henry and Keivon Woodard as Sam will be joining the cast as well.

Gabriel Luna is also set to take on a new role in The Last of Us where he would play Tommy, a former soldier and the younger brother of Joel. Along with Luna are Ashley Johnson, Nick Offerman, and Troy Baker who both have unannounced roles.
