There is little doubt that The Last of Us Episode 1 is one for the books after it caused HBO to crash as subscribers tried to tune in for the premiere. Luckily, it was worth all the buzz, setting the tone for the series. As expected, the show put the focus on Joel and Ellie but the character fans are raving about is Sarah Miller, and it's all thanks to Nico Parker's amazing performance.
We get to meet Sarah in the first 33 minutes of The Last of Us Episode 1 where the story unfolds from the girl's point of view. At first, it looked like Sarah was just going about her day like going to school and hanging out with her neighbors, but she also goes out of her way to give her father Joel a special gift on his birthday. While all of this is happening, the zombie apocalypse loomed all around her and her chapter of the story ends with one of the most heartbreaking deaths in recent memory.
She's only in the first half of the episode but people are loving how Nico Parker made them fall in love with Sarah.
If you're like most fans who are wondering about the talented young actor, Nico Parker comes from a talented family. Her father is Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again director Oliver Parker while you may have seen her mother Thandiwe Newton in Westworld and Solo: A Star Wars Story.
For now, Parker has only appeared in a few projects including Tim Burton's Dumbo and 2021's Reminiscence where she worked alongside her mother. However, after a stunning performance in The Last of Us, we're expecting to see more of Parker in the future.
The first episode of The Last of Us is currently streaming on HBO Max. The second episode, which is titled Infected, will premiere on Sunday, January 22, 2023.
