Last week at the 2019 San Diego Comic-Con, Marvel revealed its plans for Phase 4 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and that included it's cast list for The Eternals.
Hollywood A-lister Angelina Jolie has long since been rumored to be part of Marvel's highly anticipated prequel movie, and the studio later on confirmed the actress' involvement in the movie. Now, with the Maleficent star set to make her MCU Debut next year, Jolie talks to PEOPLE about her casting, saying that her children are the most excited of them all to see her in The Eternals.
"What's really moving to me is that they want to see me strong, and so it's less to see me in a film, but they're just happy I will be strong and having fun," Jolie tells the entertainment news outlet.
Jolie is set to play the part of Thena, a hero with the power of superhuman strength, stamina, speed, agility, durability, and reflexes.
"She's a warrior," she says. "I'm going to have to work very hard to give the Marvel Cinematic Universe the Thena they deserve."
Apparently, Jolie's already trying her best in training, doing all sorts of programs that range from "swords to ballet."
The actress is certainly keeping herself busy. Aside from The Eternals, Jolie is also set to appear in Maleficent: Mistress of Evil which premieres in October this year. She also is working on The One and Only Ivan which is set to premiere in August next year.
We definitely can't wait to see how Jolie fares as a Marvel hero.
The Eternals premieres on November 6, 2020.
