The John Wick franchise has extended its reach to the small screen after it was announced, earlier this year, that a limited prequel TV series will be launched very soon. This has caused a commotion amongst John Wick lovers. Now, it has been announced that Mel Gibson (Braveheart) has been recruited to be part of the cast for The Continental.
It is a nice surprise to see Gibson play out a part in the John Wick prequel because not only is Mel Gibson a well-seasoned actor, he can add star power to whatever storyline The Continental will have.
What Is Mel Gibson's Role In The Continental?
Reports have revealed that Mel Gibson's role in the limited series will be Cormac. However, other details about his character have been released.
So far, Gibson is the first actor to be announced who will be joining the John Wick prequel. As for Keanu Reeves, the possibility of him joining the cast is slim. However, there are reports that he might join the production team as an executive producer of The Continental.
Who's Joining The Crew Of The Continental?
Right now, Mel Gibson is the only person confirmed to appear in the highly anticipated John Wick prequel. Keanu Reeves may be joining the ship as executive producer and John Wick creator Derek Kolstad may also come on board.
Greg Coolidge and Kirk Ward will take the writer and showrunner seats, respectively. Thunder Road Pictures will be the production company of choice and Book Of Eli director Albert Hughes will direct two episodes of the limited series.
