Fans will have to wait until 2026 to get to the final season of The Boys, and Valorie Curry is expected to return one more time as her alt-right hatemonger Firecracker.
Though the character can get pretty freaky onscreen, Curry has come out online to talk about a very pushy fan that she met at Comic-Con Ireland; and she’s urging anyone who has any weird ideas not to come at her like that again.
Valorie Curry Reveals Getting Harrassed by a Fan at Comic-Con
In a recent video (via @TheBoysOOCC), Curry talks about an experience that she had with a fan who was trying to get her to do something that made her incredibly uncomfortable. She says:
“We do need to talk about boundaries, and what is appropriate in terms of behaviour. I know people saw a character that I played do some pretty extreme things on The Boys, and I don’t care if you’re in costume. I don’t care if you’re in character. It’s not okay and it’s not funny to demand those things of me in person at my booth. It’s not okay.”
She didn’t say specifically what that fan wanted her to do at her booth, but some guess that it was a Homelander cosplayer who was trying to get her to mimic feeding him her breast milk—something that Firecracker does on the show.
“Fans Should Know Better”
Though weird fans always come with any big show, it is worth noting that some don’t know how to set boundaries when it comes to actors and the characters that they’re playing. There are some fans who are known to be handsy with actors and cosplayers; and the term “Cosplay is NOT Consent” has to be thrown around at every other con.
Curry continues, “I really want to be able to do these. I really enjoy getting to meet the fans and talk about the characters that I played. Honestly, I really love it. I want to be able to do this… I’m not going to be able to do this if people are acting this way because it makes me so uncomfortable, and honestly, you should know better.”
Being rude to actors doesn’t stop at in-person meetings either. Numerous personalities have been shoved out of social media by bullies who somehow take offense to characters and decide to harass the actors who play them. It happened to Daisy Ridley, Kelly Marie Tran, and John Boyega; and the same fans are treating Acolyte star Amandla Stenberg with the same kind of harassment.
Firecracker in the Final Season of The Boys
With Homelander having successfully taken over the government, The Boys is gearing up for a whole human versus supe war. Firecracker is still expected to be part of the Seven, but with the breast milk meds that she’s been taking, it’s been shown to actually have a toll on her body.
Firecracker is expected to have one last fight with Starlight, but hopefully, they’ll be on equal footing by the time that happens. It probably won’t be a good look for Annie to beat up someone physically deteriorating from taking breast milk meds.
The final season of The Boys is expected to come out in 2026.
