The Book of Boba Fett Possibly Confirms Boba Can't Control Tatooine

It's pretty clear that The Book of Boba Fett will follow the former bounty hunter as he tries to take over Tatooine. However, it looks like Boba might not be the crime boss he aims to be. Series co-creator Jon Favreau has teased the possibility that Boba will not succeed in controlling the criminal underworld in the Star Wars show.

Boba's intentions have been teased in the final episode of The Mandalorian Season 2 where Boba and Fennec Shand went into Jabba the Hutt's palace and killed Bib Fortuna. In the Book of Boba Fett trailer, it is then confirmed that he intends to "rule with respect" over the crime lords of Tatooine.

It might sound like a simple thing but nothing is ever simple, especially not in the Star Wars Universe. Favreau told Empire that Boba may have bitten off more than he can chew, especially since he's not exactly fully aware of how to rule over criminals.

“Although Boba Fett is a very experienced bounty hunter, he’s not experienced at running a criminal syndicate or managing forces,” Favreau said. He then added that being thrust into a new position is unusual for the former bounty hunter.

“He’s not normally a newcomer. He’s an expert as we see him in most areas. But in this case, he’s trying to transition to another position,” Favreau stated.

Personally, we think Boba will figure things out quickly, or at least, he has to since Tatooine is facing what Favreau calls "a power vacuum." So does he have what it takes to take control of the crime lords and keep everyone in check? It's going to be hard work and we're looking forward to seeing how Boba makes it happen.

The Book of Boba Fett will star Temuera Morrison, Ming-Na Wen, and Jennifer Beals. The series will premiere on Disney+ on December 29, 2021.
