The Big Bang Theory is Ending Because Jim 'Sheldon' Parsons Wants to Leave

While the news was a bit sad, many felt that the recent confirmation of The Big Bang Theory ending was appropriate. The fact that the show lasted for 24 seasons is an impressive feat because many assumed that it would end much earlier. Though no official reason was given during the official press release, a recent report might have revealed why the series is ending.

According to Entertainment Weekly, the main reason why the show is ending because actor Jim Parsons is ready to leave and do something else. Parsons plays as Sheldon in the show and is probably the most popular character in the show, which is why him leaving and ending the show is somewhat believable.

Negotiations for the cast to return for two more seasons were in the process but in the end, it was settled that the next season would be the last. To be fair, it doesn't like there is anything else for Sheldon Cooper to do since he has done pretty much everything he can in this show. He even got married, something a number of fans did not expect to see.

Though sad, this is probably for the best since the show has arguably gone on for too long. Most shows that hit 10-plus seasons start to feel stale after a while, let alone 20-plus.

The Big Bang Theory returns next month to begin the final season.
