The Batman Rumor: Ben Affleck Again Reportedly Leaving The DCEU

DC fans might have considered Ben Affleck's Batman one of the most comic book accurate versions of the Dark Knight, but the DC Extended Universe star has had quite a complicated relationship with Warner Brother's burgeoning superhero franchise. For months, there have been rumors that Affleck might leave, or might stay and remain as the DCEU's Caped Crusader.

Now, with many assuming that The Batman would be given to a younger actor, a new rumor is going around saying that Affleck might be planning to leave the DCEU for good.

Posting on Twitter, Forbes contributor Mark Hughes who's been known to keep a track of insider information on DC movie news has just put up a tweet casting more doubt on Affleck's stay as Batman.

According to the writer, Affleck won't be Batman in Matt Reeve's film, and "As of now there are no plans to involve Affleck."

Though the writer doesn't want to officially confirm anything knowing that he's not part of Warner Brothers or the DCEU, Hughes seems pretty certain that Affleck will step out of the franchise, putting an end to the actor's will-he-won't-he story. It might be bitter sweet, but fans have seen it coming a long, long time ago.
