The Batman Could Come Out Summer of 2021

Rumors have been coming out that WB wants to take their time with the Batman solo movie, and it's possible that we could be looking at a release between 2021 and 2022. Now the director Matt Reeves himself confirms that we could be getting a release in 2021.

Talking to THR, Reeves comments on the release of The Batman:

"We haven't been dated. I wouldn't commit to this, but we're thinking the movie would probably be for 2021, late spring or summer. Warner Bros. has been incredibly supportive and given me a lot of time and shared the same passion that I do for this story."

Out of all the DCEU movies in development, the film that's been getting the least updates is The Batman. The good news is, it looks like Reeves finally has a script to work with, and he says that casting could begin very soon.

Though I would have rather seen the movie coming out sooner rather than later, I guess it's a good thing that WB is taking their time with this film. After all, Batman is one of the most popular IP that they own under the DC banner. It's ridiculous that they managed to stumble with films like Batman v Superman, Suicide Squad, and Justice League counting that Batman was in all those films.

When it comes to it, I just hope that WB is more respectful to their directors moving forward. The studio has been getting a lot of flak after rumors came out that they were responsible for the change in tone of Suicide Squad and Justice League. Let's just hope that Reeves is able to make the Batman movie that he (and all of us) deserve.

No release date has been set for The Batman.
