The Acolyte showrunner Leslye Headland recently teased that we might see more of Yord Fandar and Jecki Lon in other Star Wars projects.

The two fan-favorite character notably faced their untimely demise in the fifth episode to the surprise of many fans as they didn't expect them to get killed off earlier in the first season's run.

Considering how beloved they immediately became in the first few episodes and were prominently featured in the show's main storyline up to that point, their deaths set a precedent as it showed that none of the main characters were safe.

The Acolyte Showrunner Reveals We Might See More of Yord and Jecki

In a recent press roundtable interview, Headland was asked whether there are plans to explore more Yord Fandar and Jecki Lon in another format.

She revealed that there had been discussions with Lucasfilm creative executive Pablo Hidalgo about exploring Yord and Jecki's backstories in other projects.

"Yeah, definitely. Pablo Hidalgo and I have talked about that, and since wrapping up the season, there's definitely some stuff that I would love to see come to fruition," The Acolyte showrunner said.

"Obviously, Vernestra already exists in publishing, so also going to do something there. There was a lot of background done on them both by the actors in the writers' room. Yord Fandar, I've said this before, was a character in a campaign that I played, so there's a pretty large backstory to him."

Headland added, "But yeah, it was always the plan to kill them in Episode 5 halfway through the season. So it was kind of fun to think about them a lot and then think, 'Well, because we didn't spend a lot of time with them, maybe there's a way we could keep playing around with them somehow.'"

We've seen throughout the Star Wars franchise's history that it has become a norm for them to explore more of the fan-favorite live-action characters in novels or comics so it's not surprising to hear that they might do the same for The Acolyte.

Fans have expressed their interest in learning more about the characters, and it's great that they are planning to make it happen through the publishing content where they have the avenue to do an extensive exploration of their origins.

New episodes of The Acolyte premiere every Tuesday night on Disney+.
