The Acolyte star Manny Jacinto remains hopeful to see the Star Wars series continue with season 2.
A few weeks ago, it was officially announced that Lucasfilm has decided to not move forward with a second season of the High Republic-set series. A lot of fans were dismayed by the decision.
Since then, fans have launched a campaign that would hopefully convince Lucasfilm and Disney to reverse their decision. So far, it has received more than 60,000 signatures as social media engagement on the movement continues.
Manny Jacinto is Still Hopeful for The Acolyte Season 2
While appearing recently at Dragon Con, Jacinto was asked during a panel what kind of goal he is hoping to achieve in the future.
He responded with a smile, "Season 2 of The Acolyte."
Jacinto's response was met with a rapturous response from the attendees of the panel. He also briefly addressed the cancellation news in a social media post last week.
This is an encouraging word for fans who have been campaigning for the series to get renewed as it shows that there are people involved who are continuing to be hopeful for the renewal.
After all, the series has shown a lot of potential for the storyline that they could explore in the second season and we have seen online that there is a huge support for The Acolyte despite the alleged "bad viewership" that it's been getting.
It would be interesting to see whether the ongoing campaign will lead to positive results soon as we are now hearing more prominent voices who are supportive of the series to continue its run.
