Nov. 1, 2019, was supposed to be a big day with Wonder Woman 1984 set to come out on that date. Now WW84 has been pushed back to 2020, and two other blockbuster films have taken the Nov. 1 spot—on the same day.
As per Variety, Tim Miller's Terminator 6 has been pushed from its original July 2019 release date to Nov. 1, 2019. Likewise, the Charlie's Angels reboot has moved its premiere date from September 2019 to the first of November as well.
No specific reasons have been given as to the choice of release dates, but it could be coming from a purely strategic standpoint. Wonder Woman 1984 was said to have pushed its release to June 2020 because the Nov. 2019 premiere was too close to the Joker movie. December would have competed with Star Wars, and early 2020 already had Birds of Prey slated. The June release date was considered ideal.
With both big franchises butting heads on the same release date, only time will tell if Terminator or Charlie's Angels will come out on top. Both franchises do focus on a story about tough women, but one franchise is more aimed at the action-loving men while the other may be more focused on the comedy/espionage aspect. I guess it's up to the audience to decide.
Terminator 6 is directed by Tim Miller and stars Mackenzie Davis, Arnold Schwarzenegger, and Linda Hamilton. Charlie's Angels is helmed by Elizabeth Banks and stars Kristen Stewart, Naomi Scott, and Ella Balinska.
