The global pandemic has hit the entertainment industry with a huge blow since it started and it continuously causes delays in the production of the shows just like that of Superman & Lois Season 2. The show has been repeatedly put on hiatus for the same reason and now, its season finale release date gets pushed back as well.
Originally scheduled for release on June 25, 2022 at 8PM, Superman & Lois Season 2’s last episode is supposed to air on June 25 at 8 PM but The CW just announced that the finale of the second season will be happening one week after, on June 28.
Superman & Lois Season 2 has been put on hiatus more than once due to problems of COVID-19 on set and to prevent it from spreading throughout the team, they decided to put the series on hold for two times, and the other hiatus was to give way for the Winter Olympics.
The series has been renewed for another season while other DC shows such as DC's Legends of Tomorrow and Batwoman were canceled by The CW which led fans to be enraged with the decision of the network. Other shows on the slate of The CW were also canceled such as Legacies and Naomi.

Superman & Lois Season 2 is currently telling the story of the Bizarro versions of the characters and an alternate reality where the bizarros were coming from. Episode 11 ended with Jon-El being prevented from merging with Jonathan and the bizarro reality continues to seep into the current universe where the Kent family is.
These delays are nothing new especially when the COVID-19 pandemic arrived. The harsh reality is that for a show to deliver, a lot of people are getting at risk of contracting the virus and this is no easy feat for any production. At most, people are asked to be considerate and understanding with these short periods of hiatus.
Superman & Lois Season 2 Episode 12 returns on-air via The CW on May 31, 2022.
