An animated feature film adaptation of Nintendo's iconic Mario video games has been in the works for a while now. While the plot details are being kept under wraps, we do know that Chris Pratt is voicing the titular character which ended up being a controversial choice for fans who are currently skeptical about the casting decision.
Now, it looks like we will finally get out very first look at the upcoming film soon as the New York Comic Con has announced that the teaser trailer for the Super Mario Bros. animated movie is set to unveil this October 6 at 4:00 pm ET on the convention.

Besides Pratt, the cast also includes Anya Taylor-Joy (as Peach), Charlie Day (as Luigi), Jack Black (as Bowser), Keegan-Michael Key (as Toad), Seth Rogen (as Donkey Kong), Fred Armisen (as Cranky Kong), Kevin Michael Richardson (as Kamek), Sebastian Maniscalco (as Foreman Spike), and original Mario voice actor Charles Martinet in an undisclosed cameo role.
With the divisive responses to the casting of Pratt as Mario, there has been a lot of curiosity about the project as people are interested to see what this film will look like and what kind of story they have in store. However, on the bright side, Mario creator Shigeru Miyamoto is involved as one of the producers and has creative input on the film.
The upcoming teaser trailer will be our very first look at Pratt's voicework as Mario and it may finally answer some of the skepticism on his casting whether it actually works or not. For now, all we can do is wait for the teaser trailer's arrival.
