Super Dragon Ball Heroes Announced for Nintendo Switch

After numerous games in Japanese arcades and the 3DS, Bandai Namco will now be bringing Super Dragon Ball Heroes to the Nintendo Switch. This is the third Dragon Ball game that will be coming to the system, the first being Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 and the second being Dragon Ball FighterZ. While a US release date isn't likely, it is cool that the Switch is getting a new Dragon Ball game.

Unlike Xenoverse 2 and FighterZ, Super Dragon Ball Heroes is a battle-based card game with more than 1,000 cards to get. Each of them contain a new hero from the series and a number of original characters that never made the canon. If you want to see Super Saiyan 4 Gohan or a fusion between Vegeta and Trunks, this is the game for you.

Fans got a glimpse of this via the Battle Coliseum in Xenoverse 2, which let players battle it out with figurines, which were basically a replacement for the cards. These were a fun distraction and some fans even prefer playing this mode over the main game. Only time will tell if experience with that mode will lead to Super Dragon Ball Heroes coming stateside.

Here's the game's story (via ComicBook.com):

Super Dragon Ball Heroes is slated for a 2019 release in Japan. No Western release date has been announced.
