Dragon Ball Super: Broly is about to develop the anime franchise in a major way. In addition to introducing Broly as part of the official canon, the film will also take us back to the history of Saiyans.
During a recent interview with Dragon Ball Super: Broly composer Norihito Sumitomo discussed how the filmmakers intend Dragon Ball Super: Broly to be somewhat like a reboot for the franchise.
Over on Twitter, translator Herms98 shared what the composer said about the film's "reboot" direction: "Sumitomo heard that Toriyama wrote the script with the intention of returning things to square one, so Sumitomo and co. have likewise resolved to freshen up their approach."
It looks like series creator Akira Toriyama, director Tatsuya Nagamine, and their creative staff are redefining the foundations of Dragon Ball's story. The latest trailer for the film teased the Saiyans' past in Planet Vegeta and that closely tracks to what Sumitomo description of bringing it back to "square one" in the film.
