With Squid Game 2 out of the way, Netflix is now free to focus on their other huge franchise, Stranger Things, which is set to release its final season later this year.

While no trailer has been dropped for Stranger Things 5, a teaser poster has been shared, and it does give a hint at what Eleven’s (Millie Bobby Brown) story could be for the final season of the show.

Eleven Goes Missing

Netflix has just made a bunch of big reveals for their upcoming projects, and for Stranger Things, they’ve released a missing person poster for one Jane Hopper. Check this out:

The poster doesn’t reveal many details directly, but it does confirm that Eleven does go missing at some point in the season. Some fans have also pointed out that calling the number on the poster doesn’t really lead to anything, but the fact that Eleven went missing on Friday the 13th could be a major clue when it comes to the story.

After all, the series has been pretty blatant with its 80s callbacks from Nightmare on Elm Street to Terminator. A reference to the Friday the 13th franchise with Jason Vorhees could lead to some kind of plot point of why Eleven goes missing.

Maybe the dates on the post could also be hints at the possible series premiere date. June 7 (Eleven’s birthday) and June 13 (the day Eleven goes missing) could be realistic premiere dates for the show. Though it did start out as a Halloween-themed series, Stranger Things has since moved on to summer releases, and a premiere in June wouldn’t be too farfetched.

Coming Full Circle

With Eleven going missing, it kind of brings the series full circle from the first season. Season 1 of Stranger Things had Will Byers go missing, and Eleven was the only one who was able to find out where he was. This time, maybe it’s Eleven that goes missing, and Will is the one who manages to track her down.

With Hawkins in a state of disarray by the end of the last season, a lot of people are wondering just how the town was able to cope after the event. Are the kids the only ones who are able to see the huge cracks to the Upside Down? Are all the adults going to be oblivious to it like they are with the clown murders in IT?

If anything, Netflix has its plate pretty full when it comes to releases this year, but no doubt Stranger Things has got to be one of the main courses. With the series being one of the biggest cultural hits for the streaming platform, there’s a lot of pressure for the Duffer Brothers and Shawn Levy to stick the landing.

Fingers crossed they’ll be able to pull it off. No specific release date has been set for Stranger Things 5, but fans can expect it to hit Netflix sometime later this year.
