Star Wars: The Last Jedi director Rian Johnson knows a thing or two about fanboy hate, seeing that he's been on the receiving end of it ever since TLJ came out. With all the fans angry over the latest episode of Game of Thrones, Johnson has taken to Twitter to poke fun at the fans complaining.
This was his post:
While a lot of complaints were thrown at Johnson for The Last Jedi, probably the most popular one was the denial of several fan theories—from Snoke to Luke Skywalker. With all this hate going to The Long Night, it's funny that Johnson would have a sense of humor about it. It's also worth noting that GoT showrunners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss are now Johnson's peers, seeing as the three of them are working on their own series of Star Wars films.
Personally, I wasn't a fan of the latest episode, and it was all about the ridiculously thick plot armor that all the main characters had. Sure we lost some fan favorites, but their deaths are basically non-consequential to the main conflict of the show which now looks to be the battle with Cersei.
I'm pretty sure this Reddit post accurately conveyed a lot of peoples' feelings:

For now, it looks like the show is now gearing up for a war with King's Landing. Funny that the Night King would end up being offed in the middle of the season seeing as the show has been building up to his arrival since Season 1. Hopefully all of this ends with a finale bigger than the Battle of Winterfell.
Catch the next episode of Game of Thrones on HBO this coming Sunday.
