Star Wars: Skeleton Crew showrunner Jon Watts has promised that the series will be accessible to new fans and they don't need to do homework to enjoy watching.

Later this year, the highly-anticipated MandoVerse spinoff is set to finally premiere. It will focus on a group of young characters and a Force-user as they embark on an adventure in the galaxy far, far away after a mysterious discovery.

Recently, we were treated with official first-look photos that gave us our early preview of the series and its main characters as we're now just a few months away from its premiere date.

In a recent interview, Jude Law, who plays Force-user Jod Na Nawood, teased that Star Wars: Skeleton Crew will feature a lot of easter eggs from past projects in the franchise.

"If you look carefully, [we] got some Star Wars tech that dates right back, I believe, to the original film," he said.

"They do [easter eggs] so well. That's one of the joys I think of this universe for those who know there are these little details always hidden away or Easter eggs that people can find and link up."

Watts added, "I can't wait. I mean, even in the first episode, there's a couple really, really great references that certain fans will immediately recognize."

Despite that, Watts assured that newcomers can still enjoy the series without any prior knowledge of the franchise.

"You don't have to know everything about Star Wars to enjoy the show. You can come into it completely fresh and enjoy the story. But if you do happen to be a Star Wars super fan, there's a lot for you," he said.

This is an encouraging remark from Watts since this could help the series attract more audience and there is an assurance early on that it will be accessible to everyone regardless of whether they are a Star Wars fan or not.

After all, Star Wars has always been a four-quadrant franchise and its messages and themes always resonate to all audiences regardless of who they are and where they came from.

Star Wars: Skeleton Crew is set to premiere on Disney+ this December 3.
