The Star Wars prequel trilogy is getting a lot of love these days thanks to the release of the Obi-Wan Kenobi series. However, it can't be denied that during its initial release two decades ago, Episodes I, II, and III were among the most polarizing entries in the Skywalker saga not including the sequel trilogy.

Of course, the actors who starred in the prequels were well aware of the situation and have even stated in recent interviews that it's only now that they're starting to learn about the fandom's love for the once divisive trilogy.

Looking back on his early days in the franchise, Hayden Christensen, who played Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader shared something that creator George Lucas told him about the fans who disliked the prequels.

In an interview with The Guardian, the Obi-Wan Kenobi star said: "I guess the impression that I got from [Star Wars creator] George Lucas was that if they don’t like them, then they don’t 'get' it -- and that was good enough for me."

The prequel trilogy by no means is a perfect series and it definitely gave us some of the most iconic moments in all of Star Wars. And to be fair, it's the fans of the original trilogy who had a lot of bad things to say about The Phantom Menace, Attack of the Clones, and Revenge of the Sith. For the most part, the generation which saw the prequels actually enjoyed them.

The first three episodes of Obi-Wan Kenobi are now streaming on Disney+.
