Sony's Spider-Man Universe is far from done, and fans couldn't be more thrilled to see another web-slinger make his live-action crossover: Spider-Noir.

Academy winner Nicolas Cage first portrayed the Marvel hero in the acclaimed animated flick Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, and is now set to reprise his role in the 2026 live-action show to showcase his take on the Spider-Man variant.

Here is everything you need to know about the upcoming Prime Video series!

Nicolas Cage's Spider-Noir Makes Eerie Live-Action Debut

Spider-Man Noir, otherwise known as Peter Benjamin Parker, made his debut in February 2009 in his own comic, Spider-Man: Noir #1, becoming an instant hit with Marvel fans over one of the most unique variants of the hero.

Ever since Cage voiced the brooding hero who "likes to drink egg creams and fight Nazis" in 1933, fans have wondered what it would be like to witness the groundbreaking visual style in live-action. Well, lo and behold.

The upcoming Spider-Man won't be just a flick—it's a live-action Spider-Noir series coming to Prime Video sometime in 2026.

As seen in the trailer, Spider-Noir maintains the black-and-white atmosphere and features the comic book-accurate variant sporting a fedora, trench coat, gloves, and goggles look. But what else could we expect from this nitty-gritty show?

Everything We Know About Spider-Man Noir's Story So Far

During the Amazon Upfront (via @nineralex/Twitter), Prime Video shared the first Spider-Noir teaser in which Nicolas Cage's cast has been confirmed to return as the iconic masked hero.

The footage teased a couple of fight scenes and even Cage outside his costume as a clear nod to the horrorsome tone. It's worth noting that the series will be made available to watch in both black and white and in color.

Considering the theme of the trailer, we can assume that Spider-Noir is in his own Marvel Universe, aka Earth-90214. Most importantly, this will mark Spider-Man Noir's first time seen in live-action form.

Story-wise, depending on how far they're going to deep dive into the comic origins, Spider-Noir's plotlines will likely focus on his daily life (and luck) as a private investigator, brooding about his past as he tracks down crime in 1930s New York.

The highly anticipated Prime series will consist of eight episodes in total.

Starring alongside Cage include Academy Award nominee Brendan Gleeson (Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire) as a mob boss, Jack Huston (Boardwalk Empire) as his bodyguard, and Primetime Emmy Award winner Larmorne Morris (New Girl) as journalist Robbie Robertson.

Meanwhile, Abraham Popoola (Andor, The Great, Cruella), Li Jun Li (The Exorcist, Babylon), and Karen Rodriguez (Shining Girls) have unconfirmed roles.

Is Spider-Noir a Part of the Spider-Verse or the MCU?

As it stands, anything can happen. For now, Spider-Noir might belong in the Spider-Verse rather than the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Apart from appearing in the former first, Sony Pictures is helping develop the storyline. However, nothing has been confirmed yet in terms of whether or not it is canon in Sony's SSU.
