Spider-Man: No Way Home almost featured an easter egg to the maligned 2003 Ben Affleck-led Daredevil movie.

The MCU film notably brought back several actors from Marvel's past including Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield's respective versions of Spider-Man and the villains in their movies.

Another Marvel star who made a major comeback in the film is Charlie Cox's Matt Murdock, who was last seen in the original Daredevil series on Netflix and is making his first official MCU appearance.

While addressing the crowd at Tampa Bay Comic Con, Cox revealed that Spider-Man: No Way Home almost had a fun easter egg related to the 2003 Daredevil movie.

They were planning to feature a joke regarding Happy Hogan actor Jon Favreau's involvement in the 2003 movie where he played Foggy Nelson.

"In Spider-Man I got to do a scene with Jon Favreau who I love. He also plays Foggy in that film [Daredevil 2003]," the actor shared.

"I’m not sure if it made it into the movie in the end, but we tried to get a pun in, like a little Easter egg, where I ask him a question, and Jon’s character Happy says, ‘Yeah, I’m a little foggy on that right now.’ I don’t know if it made it into the movie, I can’t remember, but we played with it on the day, hoping people would pick up on it."

As most fans know, that easter egg did not make it to the theatrical cut of the movie.

It would have been fun if the film included that easter egg since fans might get the kick out of the reference as they realize the layers of the joke and having the current Matt Murdock and the former Foggy Nelson share the same scene.

Hopefully, they will still feature the scene as a featurette or deleted scene someday and give us a taste of what the reference looks like as a scene.
