Spider-Man: Far From Home Writers Show Interest in Secret Invasion, Tease Big Meeting with Marvel

After Thanos and the Infinity Stones dominated previous MCU films, fans are waiting to see what the next big "gimmick" will be for future installments. Since Captain Marvel revealed the Skrulls, fans have been hoping for a big Secret Invasion event like in the comics, where you aren't sure who to trust. It's a fan-favorite Marvel event and a lot of people want to see this in the big screen, including the Spider-Man: Far From Home writers.

Chris McKenna and Eric Sommers talked with Variety and were asked about a possible Secret Invasion film. Though the two writers are fans of the comic, they aren't sure if Marvel has any big plans to adapt it. However, the two did mention that they are meeting with Marvel Studios about something soon but they aren't sure if it will be Secret Invasion or something else.

"We do not know. I hope so, that would be cool. I'd like to see that. We are currently driving on our way to Marvel, we don't know why or what they want. They don't even show us the menu for lunch."

For those unaware, Secret Invasion was an event that had the shapeshifting Skrulls disguise themselves as some of the Marvel Universe's biggest heroes. They infiltrated the ranks of some big superhero and supervillain groups, including The Hand and The New Avengers. Considering the current state of the MCU, it will be interesting to see how they would handle a story like this.

Spider-Man: Far From Home is now showing in theaters.
