While Tom Holland continues to recover from his previous on-set injury, a new villain from Homecoming will be joining the Spider-Man: Brand New Day roster.
After the events of No Way Home, could Peter Parker come up against these villains all by himself this time? Or will the power of the Multiverse be too hard for him to handle?
Which Spider-Man: Homecoming Villain is Returning to the MCU?

Scorpion is ready to strike, at least according to set photos shared by @MyTimeToShineHello on X, which featured Holland returning from the hospital following his injury and with two more photos alongside Mando as Mac Gargan, aka Scorpion, getting off the helicopter to seemingly join them on set.
Seeing as Spider-Man: Brand New Day will follow the events of No Way Home, where everyone's memories of Peter Parker as Spider-Man have been wiped, the fourth film will showcase Peter fighting against crime on his own. And with old common foes like Mando's Scorpion, they're ready to take their worst shot at Spider-Man.
Mando first made his debut as Mac Gargan in Homecoming, where he was arrested after being caught by the friendly neighborhood web-slinger. In a post-credit scene, Gargan ran into Michael Keaton's Adrian Tooms in jail, where the Scorpion expressed his long-term vendetta against the super.
Eight years and two movies later, Scorpion will appear to be getting out of jail and enact his revenge against Spider-Man. As interesting as Scorpion's return will be, he's not the only villain coming up to face Spider-Man in the highly anticipated movie...

Considering how many villains No Way Home featured to face Tom Holland's Peter Parker alone, Brand New Day wouldn't be any different apart from the new roster, namely: Marvin Jones, who will reprise Tombstone after voicing him in Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse; Jon Bernthal's Punisher is set to reprise his role, and another secret antagonist for the web-slinger.
Meanwhile, other cast members coming back to this fourth flick include Zendaya and Jacob Batalon reprising their roles as MJ and Ned, Mark Ruffalo playing Bruce Banner, aka The Hulk, and with new additions such as Sadie Sink (rumored to be Mayday Parker, Mary Jane Watson, or even Jean Grey), Tramell Tillman, and Liza Colón-Zayas.
Destin Daniel Cretton, who previously directed the MCU's Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, is also helming Brand New Day. With this slate of villains in Spider-Man's hands and with Cretton's reputable choreography, this action film promises to be just as memorable as the last.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day is set to premiere on the big screens on July 31, 2026. Stay tuned for more updates.
