With the rumors surrounding the upcoming third MCU Spider-Man film casting Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield to reprise their iconic roles as our favorite wall-crawlers, webheads have been asking: what does it mean for Tom Holland's version Peter Parker?
We still don't know for sure but seeing as Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures have officially cast Jamie Foxx as Electro and Alfred Molina as Doctor Octopus, it's looking quite evident that they're setting up the MCU version of a Multiverse Sinister Six with other villains like Vulture, Scorpion, and Mysterio still lurking.
But what if the untitled Spider-Man 3 could see Holland suffer the same fate as his mentor Tony Stark following his heroic sacrifice in Avengers: Endgame? Digital artist @spdrmnkyxxiii on Instagram is making jaws drop yet again with his amazing artwork which depicts the death of Tom Holland's Spider-Man.
The said artwork sees Andrew Garfield's version in the symbiote suit carrying a lifeless Earth-616 Spidey. Is this a twist you'd be down to see? Check it out below:
The chances of Holland's character dying in the franchise this early are pretty slim considering he's poised to be one of the key members of the Avengers now that the likes of Iron Man and Captain America are gone but then again, Marvel Studios has pulled off some stunning twists in the past so if there's one thing we learned from them, it's to expect the unexpected.
That said, Spider-Man 3 swings into theaters in December.
