There were a lot of things to like about Shazam, from the fun humor and unique premise to the solid climax that managed to be both whimsical and exciting. It also had a bunch of great kid actors, which is shocking since performers at their age are normally not great. Zachary Levi, who plays as Shazam, recently praised the diverse adopted family Billy has.
Speaking with ComicBook.com, Levi discussed how he enjoyed the progressive family that Billy Batson had. Granted, it was kind of odd how that one family can afford so many foster kids but that was a comic book thing so let's not question that. At the least, it gave us a nice and diverse family that a lot of kids can relate to, something that Levi wholeheartedly supports.
"If we can do anything in this world, I hope that we can always be, again, looking at people and saying to them, even just in the way we treat them, 'I see you. I see you and I value you. And you're worthy of living the life that you're living.'"
It's been a month or so since Shazam was in theaters so we can probably expect a Blu-Ray release soon. Hopefully, the sequel focuses more on the family and their superhero team, along with the threat of Black Adam, Doctor Savannah, and Mister Mind.
