Sharkey the Bounty Hunter is Mark Millar's Next Netflix Comic Book

With Prodigy coming out soon and Magic Order leaving comic book fans impressed, everyone has been waiting to see what Mark Millar has up his sleeve next. Netflix recently announced the latest comic book from Millar, this time working with artist Simone Bianchi in a dark sci-fi comedy known as Sharkey the Bounty Hunter. If it's anything like his previous indie comics, it will be very violent and fun.

According to Millar, Sharkey the Bounty Hunter will be inspired by films with parent/child dynamics like Leon: The Professional but with a sci-fi twist. It will also cross lines that Marvel and Star Wars don't, so expect a ton of violence, maybe some blood and gore as well. Sex too, because you got to have that to appeal to adults for some reason.

Like many of his other comic book projects, Millar's comic already has a feature-length film in the works, as reported by CBR. A feature film script for Sharkey the Bounty Hunter was greenlit by Netflix last year with Michael Bacall (Scott Pilgrim vs. the World, 21 Jump Street) signed on to pen the film. That should be fun to watch, assuming that it's done right.

Millar is basically a comic book legend these days, so it will be fun seeing how this comic differentiates itself from the rest. Bianchi is pretty good as well, illustrating great comic runs on Amazing Spider-Man and Astonishing X-Men, so this comic is going to be beautiful.
