Scooter Braun and Justin Bieber may have parted ways professionally in 2023, but the talent manager still cares for his former talent amid growing concerns about the health of Hailey Bieber’s husband.
In fact, after two years, the 43-year-old businessman talked about their bond in the Monday episode of Diary of CEO podcast.
What Did Scooter Braun Say About Justin Bieber?
Braun admitted that his relationship with Bieber has changed after their professional split, but he understands why the singer does what he does.
“I think there comes a point where I understand he probably wants to go on and show that he can do it,” he said.
After discovering the pop superstar at the age of 13 through a YouTube video, there’s no denying that they had found “such extreme success” working together for 15 years.
“I think you get to a point as a man where you want to show the world you can do it on your own,” he continued. “And I completely respect that.”
Despite the rumors about Bieber’s behavior and appearance, Braun believed the Grammy winner is still trying to show the world that he can make it.
And whatever everyone says, he and everyone from their old team are continuously “rooting for him.”
“He was a very special, special talent and a very unique individual,” he added.
How is Justin Bieber Today?
Bieber has been giving fans a glimpse of his life on social medial. But instead of glamorous posts, deserving of his pop icon status, he often worries everyone with his cryptic messages.
In March, he revealed he hated himself sometimes when he started feeling "inauthentic."
“Then I remember we’re all being made to think we’re not enough but I still hate when I change myself to please people,” he continued.
He also admitted he “got anger issues” and wanted to “grow and not react so much.” In other posts, he shared his feeling of being “unworthy,” “drowning,” and “unsafe.”
In addition to his enigmatic captions, he appeared to have hollow eyes and sunken cheeks in his photos. He also looked gaunt and too thin in his oversized clothes.
Elsewhere, Bieber showed questionable behavior in public. For one, he danced atop a VIP suite sofa shirtless and barefoot.
He also had a heated exchange with paparazzi outside a coffee shop in Palm Springs, saying, “All you care about is money, not human beings.”
Unfortunately, his meltdowns didn’t just end there. He unfollowed a number of his former friends and associates in January, including Braun, deputy Allison Kaye, and longtime security chief Kenny Hamilton, among others.
“Seeing him disintegrate like this … it’s watching the embodiment of someone not living their purpose,” a former team member said (via Hollywood Reporter). “He’s lost. There’s no one protecting him because there’s no one there willing to say no to him. You say no, you get blown out.”
There are also rumors of looming divorce with Hailey, though the model herself has already denied the claims.
“You would think after having a child, people would maybe move on, chill out a little bit, but no,” she told Vogue for her May cover story, referencing their son, Jack Blues. “I thought seven years in it would’ve [died down] already, and it hasn’t.”
Now that Bieber is working independently and Braun is focusing on his role as CEO of HYBE America, their professional split may have been for the better. Despite that though, Braun evidently still wants the best for Bieber and his career.
