As MCU fans are fully convinced that the franchise is planning to resurrect Wanda Maximoff one way or another, a new rumor suggests that the upcoming fifth Avengers film could lead to a potential Scarlet Witch and Doctor Doom team-up.
Scarlet Witch's Rumored Return Sparks Theories of Team-Up with Doctor Doom
Ever since Agatha All Along premiered, fans have been wondering whether we'll ever see the Harbinger of Chaos grace the screens of Marvel again.
Now, a new rumor suggests that we won't just witness her highly anticipated comeback, but even potentially return as one of the main villains of the story again. This time, with the likes of Robert Downey Jr.'s Doctor Doom.
With this unconfirmed news, comic book fans recalled a part of the canon of Marvel Comics where the Scarlet Witch became one of Doctor Doom's "prisoners", implying that the involvement of the Multiverse wouldn't be unlikely for a cinematic storyline.
At one point in Marvel Comics, specifically in the House of M, the Children's Crusade story, Doctor Doom took advantage of a distorted Scarlet Witch by not only stealing a portion of her powers but even so far as to use those powers to wipe out the mutant population.
It remains to be seen what version of Doom we'll be expecting from Robert Downey Jr.'s performance.
But given that Elizabeth Olsen's Scarlet Witch is also rumored to have a major role in Avengers: Secret Wars, the report suggests she "might reprise her multiple variants including the one from 838", the version of Wanda whom Earth-616's Scarlet Witch stole their kids from.
However, it is worth mentioning that these must be taken with a grain of salt as nothing has been confirmed yet. Everything is speculative until Marvel or Disney officially make their announcements.

For now, fans can wait for the Scarlet Witch to potentially return to Agatha All Along episode 3 on Disney+ on September 25.
Meanwhile, Avengers: Doomsday is currently slated to release on May 1, 2026, while Avengers: Secret Wars is set for a May 7, 2027 release.
