Sarah Jessica Parker has reacted to the polarizing fan reactions to And Just Like That, following the release of its final episode.

Last week, the HBO Max series officially ended its run after three seasons. However, its finale received divisive reactions with many long-time fans of the Sex and the City franchise expressing disappointment with how they said farewell to the beloved characters. Some fans have also labeled the series as a type of "hate-watch," given their dissatisfaction with how it continued the Sex and the City world.

In an interview with The New York Times, Parker was asked about her thoughts on the fans who are hate-watching And Just Like That.

She told the outlet that she doesn't pay too much attention to the haters of the show since she believes that it had a successful run for three seasons.

"I don’t think I have the constitution to have spent a lot of time thinking about that. We always worked incredibly hard to tell stories that were interesting or real. I guess I don’t really care," she said.

"And the reason I don’t care is because it has been so enormously successful, and the connections it has made with audiences have been very meaningful."

Parker also shared that she was satisfied with how the series concluded Carrie Bradshaw's journey in the finale, which saw her embracing her new chapter in life as a single woman.

"Absolutely. I feel good about her. I think she’s set up pretty well," she said.

Is This Really the End of the Sex and the City World?

While And Just Like That has officially ended its run, some fans are still wondering whether this is truly the end of the Sex and the City world or if they might still revisit it in some capacity in the future.

Speaking with Variety, showrunner Michael Patrick King confirmed once and for all that the series finale was the conclusion of both And Just Like That and the Sex and the City franchise overall.

"It is closed. Because I care so much about what we’ve done. And I got emotional not because of letting go of Carrie, but because of the people that care about Carrie. I just realized 'care' is in 'Carrie.' People care so much about her that I feel for them," he said.

"That she’s this hero in her late 50s, wearing a Hindenburg hat and eating sherbet in Washington Square Park. She’s made her mark, and, as a writer, I feel we’ve made our mark. I never thought once about continuing. Telling it like it is: It’s an instinct. Anyone else could keep going. I can’t."
