If there's any part of the X-Men franchise fans want Disney to save, it's the Deadpool movies. The first film was a fun fourth wall-breaking film filled with good jokes and a low budget, while the second one was a huge improvement with a better narrative, smarter jokes, and stylish action. Fans are still waiting for news regarding a Deadpool 3, with Ryan Reynolds recently claiming that the film is "in the works."
While promoting Once Upon a Deadpool in China, Reynolds claimed that the film was already at work. Interestingly enough, Reynolds has teased a new direction for the character, claiming that he didn't want Deadpool to be one of those franchises that get rebooted after three or four films.
Considering how Deadpool 2 felt like a different beast from the first film, only borrowing a few of the jokes from that film, seeing a completely new direction for this third movie is going to be fun. Whether this will involve all of the time travel that happened at the end of Deadpool 2 or not is still unknown.
Some reports have claimed that X-Force would be coming out before Deadpool 3, assuming that film is still in production. In fact, most of the X-Men-related media from Fox is in limbo now that Disney has essentially bought the company.
Both Deadpool and Deadpool 2 are now available in Blu-Ray, DVD, and digital stores.
