Ryan Reynolds Celebrates Anniversary of Leaked Deadpool Test Footage

Four years ago, someone leaked some test footage for the Deadpool movie, which got such a positive reaction from fans that Fox had no choice but to give the film the greenlight. Now Deadpool is one of the most successful R-rated franchises of all time, and Ryan Reynolds takes time to commemorate what kick-started it all.

As of now, there is still a lot of debate on who actually leaked the footage. Some guess that it was director Tim Miller, but others think that it was Reynolds himself who posted it online. After all, Reynolds had spent several years trying to get the movie off the ground. It was this leak that finally got the execs to say yes to something like Deadpool.

For now, Reynolds is gearing up to star in an X-Force film, and he'll be joined by the likes of Zazie Beetz (Domino) and Josh Brolin (Cable). Then again, we don't know if the movie will have any changes to its plans thanks to the Disney/Fox acquisition which has already been finalized.

For now, fans can catch the extended cut if Deadpool 2 when it hits digital on Aug. 7 and Blu-Ray Aug. 21.
