The Disney/Fox merger has been finalized, and we're expecting characters from the X-Men and Fantastic Four to pop up in the MCU soon. One character that's often been discussed online is Deadpool, and the Russo Brothers comment on how they might bring Marvel's raunchiest character into the PG-friendly world of the MCU.
Talking to Fox, when asked about how Deadpool would be brought to the main Marvel Studios world, the Russo brothers commented:
"He breaks the 4th wall so it changes tones… I would tell you this, and this is how we craft all of these moments, we would literally lock ourselves in a room for two months and discuss this question before we could arrive at an answer."
At best, Deadpool breaking the 4th wall is often played out as insane rambling to the other characters around him. When bringing him in with the rest of the MCU, I would just expect everyone to brush it off whenever he mentions the audience or that they're all in a movie together.
Besides, it's not like Deadpool has any powers that actually mess with the 4th wall—unlike Gwenpool, which I highly recommend.
As for the questions that the Russos would ask if they were working on the character, Anthony Russo said, "Philosophically [we'd investigate], are the new rules with the character, 'Is he not allowed to break the fourth wall? Would that damage the character?' So you have to figure out how you would incorporate the tone of what's happening in the MCU with a character like that."
Hopefully we won't have to wait too long before we get our first crossover from Marvel Fox, and hopefully Deadpool will be part of the introduction.
