Very few franchises manage to stick the landing, but the Russo Brothers were able to successfully pull off Avengers: Endgame. With the film reaching its one-year anniversary, the directing duo has decided to share a video they took of an audience reacting to the movie on opening night.
Check it out:
The Russos also followed it up with, "Captured on Joe's iPhone when we snuck into the Regency Village Theater at UCLA on opening night. This is the scene where we teared up. Thank you... #AvengersAssemble"
It's kind of remarkable that Marvel was able to pull Endgame off, seeing as there was so much hype behind 10 years of storytelling. I guess it also helps to have a supportive fanbase. When studios give in to the haters, we get films like Justice League and The Rise of Skywalker. I guess Game of Thrones was kind of the outlier, seeing that the fanbase was nothing but supportive, but the showrunners have kind of lost the passion for the franchise.
For now, it looks like Marvel is taking a hiatus with team-ups and is focusing on introducing some new heroes, what with films like Eternals and Shang-Chi. Hopefully, we get a new Avengers roster down the line. Let's just hope that we don't have to wait too long. Do you think 2022 is doable?
For now, the MCU is set to kick off Phase 4 with Black Widow which comes out on Nov. 6.
