Rob Liefeld Pulls Out of Netflix Deal, Shopping Extreme Universe Elsewhere

So much for Netflix having their Extreme Cinematic Universe. After many thought that Rob Liefeld and Netflix had agreed to a deal that would let the streaming service make movies and shows about his original characters, Liefeld has now announced that he is backing out of the said deal. It seems like Liefeld isn't giving up on giving these characters a future as he stated that he is shopping the license around to potential buyers.

The Deadpool creator revealed this news on Twitter as a response to people who were asking him about the Netflix deal. It's a real shame since seeing his wacky Extreme characters in a TV screen would have been really interesting. Maybe not good but it would have been fun.

More details will come soon but all we know is that the deal is gone. Characters from Liefeld's Extreme universe include Brigade, Bloodstrike, Cybrid, Re-Gex, Bloodwulf, and Kaboom. His more popular creations like Youngblood and Prophet have deals with different film companies, though there are no updates on those projects as of this writing.

It's not all doom and gloom for Liefeld though. The comic book creator is back with Marvel for a new series called Major X, which revolves around the title character who looks a bit like Deadpool but isn't Deadpool. Liefeld is also working on Deadpool: Badder Blood, the sequel to Deadpool: Bad Blood.
