It looks like Batwoman is about to have a major nemesis in a Batman villain as TV Line has announced that Revenge star Gabriel Mann will be playing Thomas Elliot a.k.a. Hush. The name is a big one for fans of The Caped Crusader since Batman: Hush is often considered to be one of the best stories from DC Comics. While it's a bit overrated these days, there's no doubt that it's a solid story that anyone with a passing knowledge of Batman can enjoy.
Anyway, Elliot popping up in Batwoman is going to get fans talking since this is going to be the very first live-action incarnation of the character. They also seem to be making some major changes since TV Line describes Elliot as a real estate mogul and not a doctor, the latter of which was his occupation in the comics.
Oh well. Alternate universes am I right?
Considering how Hush was obsessed with Bruce Wayne, one has to wonder if the showrunners will move that obsession to Kate Kane. They could always make him a stand-in for incels who think lesbians are just straight girls who haven't had straight sex but that's just a guess. I hope they don't do that since The CW is far from subtle about, well, anything.
Does anyone remember that cringe speech about being a girl from Supergirl? I know they were still at ABC at the time but yikes.
Batwoman debuts on The CW this Sunday on October 6.
