Record of Ragnarok’s second season is finally out now, and fans are already impressed with its quality. In fact, many fans think that Record of Ragnarok Season 2 is already better than Season 1, even if the complete season has yet to be released.
Unlike the first season which was criticized by viewers for its less-than-stellar animation, it seems that the second season, which is animated by a new studio, is faring much better.
Record of Ragnarok Season 1 Reception
Netflix has released many original anime titles over the past couple of years in its bid to get more anime fans subscribed.
One of these is Record of Ragnarok, the anime adaptation of the popular dark fantasy manga of the same name.
While the excitement for it was quite high ahead of its release back in June 2021, the series was quickly met with lots of negative feedback, most of which was centered on its animation.
Whether it’s a stylistic choice or due to a lack of time and budget, the first season featured substandard animation.
Many viewers remarked that its fighting sequences were more like GIFs or slide shows.
Because of this, the first season is rated low on many anime sites. For instance, the series has a 6.66 rating on MyAnimeList.
Despite the negative reception, the series was renewed for a second season, indicating that many viewers still finished the show despite the issues.
Thankfully, it seems that Season 2 made up for the previous season’s shortcomings.

Of course, there are still viewers who aren’t fans of how the anime adaptation treated the manga’s events.
