Anime fans can read the Oblivion Battery manga after the anime to find out what happens next to the Kotesashi Baseball team, particularly to the strongest battery, Kaname and Haruka.
There’s a long way to go for these beloved players before they can reach Koshien, after all.
How Much of Oblivion Battery Did the Anime Cover?
A lot happened during the 12-episode run of Oblivion Battery. Kaname Kei, known as the commander and one-half of the genius battery, lost his memories, which changed his world, as did his childhood friend, Haruka.
Instead of going to powerhouse schools to continue playing baseball, they both decided to enter a public high school without a proper baseball team.
Worse, Kaname had drastically changed. He turned from a strict and proper commander to a complete dunce who hates playing baseball because of how dangerous and uncomfortable it is!
As the plot unfolded, Haruka and Kaname played baseball in Kotesashi along with other strong players such as Chihaya and Todo, who had their own stories to tell.
At some point, Kaname regained his memories after being hypnotized, but it didn’t last long. They won their practice match against Hikawa, though, as Kaname opened a path for Chihaya to make it home.
Overall, the first season of Oblivion Battery covered 30 chapters of the manga series.
Where to Start Reading the Oblivion Battery Manga after the Anime
After finishing episode 12 of the baseball anime, fans can start reading the Oblivion Battery manga in volume 5, chapter 31, to pick up where the last episode left off.
The 12-episode run of Oblivion Battery almost covered all the chapters in volume 5, but there are two chapters left that the anime did not adapt.
There were also some anime-original scenes in the final episode, so don’t expect to read through these scenes in chapter 30 of the baseball manga.
From here on, the Kotesashi Baseball team will strive for greater heights despite Kaname Kei’s situation.
They will not only get their baseball uniforms done, but they will also head to the practice match between Teitoku and Hikawa to watch how these two powerhouse schools play against each other.
The Oblivion Battery manga is still ongoing, so there’s plenty of source material for fans who want to keep up with the series.
