Anime’s favorite quintuplets are back, as the release date of The Quintessential Quintuplets Honeymoon Arc anime is finally confirmed.
Along with the release date announcement, more information has been revealed, including the main staff and the opening and ending theme songs of the anime special.
The Quintessential Quintuplets Honeymoon Anime Theatrical Release Date Confirmed
Following two TV anime seasons and movie, the quintessential quintuplets are finally returning in a new anime project known as the Quintessential Quintuplets Honeymoon Arc in September.
It was first announced at The Quintessential Quintuplets 5th Anniversary Event, along with the announcement that Negi Haruba is drafting the original concept story for a new light novel.
Later, the series' official website revealed that the new anime is getting a September 20th theatrical release before its TV debut. A new teaser visual has also been unveiled, as shown below:
Meanwhile, Masato Jinbo (ROOM CAMP, Senryu Girl) is directing the anime at Bibury Animation Studio.
The anime’s opening theme song, Quintuplets Smile, and the ending theme song, Memories, have also been revealed.
Where to Watch The Quintessential Quintuplets Honeymoon Anime
Before its television broadcast, the Quintessential Quintuplets Honeymoon anime will have a three-week limited theater screening in Japan starting on September 20.
This means anime fans in Japan will have a chance to watch the special episode before the rest of the world sees it.
It is expected that Crunchyroll will acquire the rights to the special episode and bring it to their platform at a later date or once it premieres on Japanese channels.
After all, the Quintessential Quintuplets anime is now streaming on Crunchyroll in English sub and dub.
There’s no word on whether other streaming platforms such as Netflix or Disney+ would stream the special episode upon its release.
What Is The Quintessential Quintuplets Honeymoon Arc About?
The Quintessential Quintuplets Honeymoon Arc anime is an original project written and supervised by original series creator Negi Haruba.
The anime is set to recount the daily lives of Futaro and the quintuplets as adults.
While they are now walking their paths, they are set to reunite on a Hawaii trip, where an incident that involves the quintuplets will occur!
It’s unconfirmed if the new anime is canon, but fans think it’ll most likely be considered canon since Haruba is significantly involved in the project.
