Queen Elizabeth shocked everyone after it was announced that she spent a night in the hospital in October 2021. Since then, the health of the British monarch has been the subject of much speculation.
The mother of Prince Charles first sparked concern after she was seen walking with a cane during an appearance at Westminster Abbey in London for a Service of Thanksgiving late last year. Royal watchers were stunned when Princess Anne handed Queen Elizabeth the accessory upon her arrival at the church.

In November 2021, Queen Elizabeth walked on her own during a trip to Scotland, together with Prince Charles. However, Her Majesty was forced to cancel her visit to Northern Ireland three weeks later after her medical team recommended that she must slow down and take it easy.
While Queen Elizabeth continues doing her duties as the head of the British monarchy, new reports are claiming that she has suffered another heartache recently. Keep on reading to know more details.
Is Queen Elizabeth Sad Lately?
Queen Elizabeth is claimed to be still devastated by the untimely passing of her husband, Prince Philip, in April. Not only that because Her Majesty also suffered the demise of two of her longest-serving ladies-in-waiting in December.
To recall, Diana Maxwell, who is in the queen’s service for 34 years, died at 90 on Dec. 29, while Duchess Ann Fortune FirtzRoy, who served for 54 years, died at 101 on Dec. 3. It was claimed that the heartache was amplified by Queen Elizabeth’s failing health, which reportedly forced her to cancel her annual holiday trip to Sandringham amid fears she won’t survive the year.
An unnamed source told National Enquirer:
“Given her frail state these losses have been harder for her.”
On Oct. 20, 2021, Buckingham Palace revealed that Queen Elizabeth was in good spirits but disappointed that she needed to miss the planned events after she accepted the medical advice to rest for a few days. A day later, spokesperson confirmed that Her Majesty spent the night in the hospital after canceling her Northern Ireland plans.
Buckingham Palace said in a statement:
“Following medical advice to rest for a few days, The Queen attended hospital on [October 20] for some preliminary investigations, returning to Windsor Castle at lunchtime today, and remains in good spirits.”
Queen Elizabeth seemed to recover within a few days that she returned to work to receive ambassadors from Switzerland and Korea via a video call. However, later that day, Buckingham Palace divulged that she would not attend an upcoming event in Scotland, saying:
“Her Majesty is disappointed not to attend the reception but will deliver an address to the assembled delegates via a recorded video message.”
On November 1, Queen Elizabeth dispelled fears about her health after she went out for a drive. Her Majesty was seen donning a headscarf and sunglasses as she drove her jaguar around the Windsor estate.
Meanwhile, it was also in October 2021 when news broke that Queen Elizabeth declined the Oldie of the Year award by The Oldie magazine. In a letter, the royal’s assistant private secretary said:
“Her Majesty believes you are as old as you feel. As such the Queen does not believe she meets the relevant criteria to be able to accept and hopes you find a more worthy recipient.”
Queen Elizabeth has yet to comment on the reports that is feeling sad lately. So, devoted supporters of the British monarch should take all these unverified claims with a huge grain of salt until everything is proven true and correct.
Queen Elizabeth Her Platinum Party On Lilibet’s Birthday
Meanwhile, Buckingham Palace recently confirmed that the Platinum Party of Queen Elizabeth is set to take place at the royal residence on June 4, which is the same day when Meghan Markle and Prince Harry welcomed their daughter, Lilibet Diana. In other words, the royal event would coincide with the royal baby’s first birthday.

The coincidence is such a big deal for royal followers, especially since Queen Elizabeth’s Platinum Party is said to be one of the most star-studded royal events this year. Reports have it that it would feature talented performers and an exclusive guest list to boast.
The overlap would unlikely be an issue for Meghan Markle and Prince Harry, who have yet to confirm their attendance in this year’s revelries. While several royal followers are thrilled to see the Sussex family in the United Kingdom again, recent reports suggested that they might not be able to attend the Platinum Jubilee events due to security reasons.
To recall, Prince Harry recently challenged the British government’s decision to not allow him pay for his police protection when he comes back to the U.K. The grandson of Queen Elizabeth reportedly wants to bring Archie and Lilibet to Britain so they would know their father’s home country.
However, Prince Harry, as per his legal representative, thinks it is too risky without proper police protection. The statement said the Duke of Sussex wants to pay for the police security himself instead of making the British taxpayers foot the bill, which he failed to do so unless the Home Office allowed him.
