Queen Consort Camilla reportedly made a change in her lifestyle following a health scare. King Charles' wife reportedly used to smoke but quit in 2001.
Queen Consort Camilla Used To Smoke 10 Cigarettes A Day But Quit Due To Health Issue?
The new queen consort reportedly smoked 10 cigarettes every day until 2001, according to Hello! magazine. However, she had a major health scare prompting her to quit the unhealthy habit for good.
King Charles' spouse had rhinitis, a condition when one's nose gets irritated by something one is allergic to, causing persistent coughing and sneezing. The said condition convinced her to give up cigarettes.
"She had a persistent cough which she couldn't shake off," one of Camilla's friends said, Daily Mail reported. "It wasn't connected to her smoking but she decided it was a good opportunity."
The friend added, "She's been trying to give up for as long as I have known her but this time she's given up for good."
What Else Did Queen Consort Camilla Do To Quit Smoking?
Aside from her reported medical condition, Prince William and Prince Harry's stepmother reportedly went on a trek to the Himalayas to "re-energize" her spirits and encourage her to quit smoking. She was in a party of 12 and was accompanied by King Charles' favorite health guru, Dr. Mosara Ali.
Camilla became a regular visitor to Dr. Ali's London practice, where she was encouraged to take up health habits like yoga to combat her back pain and help her give up smoking.

The queen consort was reportedly not the first woman in King Charles' circle addicted to tobacco. The new British monarch was reportedly annoyed by their former nanny Tiggy Legge-Bourke's non-stop smoking.
He would reportedly banish her to the roof of St. James's Palace whenever she wanted to light up.
King Charles prefers his companions not to smoke. But His Majesty reportedly tried to smoke when he was a schoolboy and gave it up almost immediately.
