Kate Middleton and Prince William welcomed their firstborn, Prince George, in 2013. The new Princess of Wales attempted to learn a new skill at the time, but she failed.
Kate Middleton Tried But Failed To Learn A Special Skill For Son Prince George?
The Duchess of Cambridge had a sweet gesture planned for her first baby. So, she tried to pick up a new skill, so she could make something for her firstborn.
It wasn't surprising as Middleton has been a hands-on mom to their three children — Prince George, 9, Princess Charlotte, 7, and Prince Louis, 4. However, she failed and shared the details behind the new craft she tried to learn during a previous visit to Glasgow.
"I've been trying to knit and I'm really bad. I should be asking for tips!" Middleton said, Hello! reported.
Since Middleton couldn't achieve the result she wanted, she decided to just scrap the present completely.
In 2020, the future queen consort shared some details about her failed attempt to learn knitting when she met some grandmothers showing off their crocheting skills during a trip to Bradford.
"I tried knitting when I first had George. I tried to knit him a very special jumper, but I got halfway down and it splattered. It's such an amazing skill," she said, Daily Record reported.
Kate Middleton And Prince William Update
The Prince and Princess of Wales have taken a break from their royal duties in the past weeks. They will not be seen in the next few days as they have been taking a low profile to be with their kids, who are on a short school break.
The Cambridges have made it a habit to slow down from work whenever their kids are available to have some family time. Also, the family deserves a break due to the things that have happened to them in the past month. They just settled in their new home — Adelaide Cottage — in Windsor. The children are attending a new school. And the family had just lost Queen Elizabeth.

The family reportedly loved their move to Windsor due to the freedom and privacy it offers to their family.
"They love that the kids can go out on their bikes and cycle around the estate, and they are all really excited to meet everyone," a friend of the royal couple told PEOPLE. "It's a real little community."
There was no detail as to how the family would spend their time together. Last year, they reportedly flew to Jordan for a vacation.
The kids will return to school later this month, in time for the Halloween season. Prince William and Kate Middleton are also expected to resume their royal duties.
