Prince Harry might attend King Charles' coronation sans his wife, Meghan Markle. However, a former royal butler warned him that he might receive an icy reception after all the things he did against his family.
Prince Harry Will Receive An Icy Reception At King Charles' Coronation?
Speaking on behalf of Slingo.com, Paul Burrell, Princess Diana's former royal butler, weighed in on what will happen if Prince Harry shows up at his father's coronation. In his opinion, it will help the Duke of Sussex in a way because it will give the people something to talk about him.
Butler said (via Showbiz Cheat Sheet):
"If Harry comes to the coronation, it will make him relevant again because he will have a tale to tell again."
However, he also warned Meghan Markle's husband that he might not receive a warm welcome from the British people after all the things he did. He had criticized his family and the institution that he used to serve in his previous interviews and in his memoir, Spare.
Burrell added:
"But can you imagine how isolated he will feel being sat in Westminster Abbey amongst his family who he's pushed under the bus. It's going to be quite icy and I think that's what the media are looking for, they are looking for those cracks, that confrontation and I think that might be a distraction from the actual reason we're watching the coronation."
Meghan Markle Won't Join Prince Harry At The Coronation?
Burrell also spoke with Closer Magazine about the Sussexes' attendance at the coronation. In his opinion, Prince William's brother will fly to his home country alone without his wife.
He said, per the New York Post:
"It's likely to be incredibly uncomfortable for them if they attend, particularly Meghan. Are they prepared to face the music?"
He added:
"I don't think Meghan's brave or strong enough to be there — she'd have to look in the eyes of a family she's pushed under the bus. But I think Harry may come alone, and she's probably told him she won't be able to be by his side with him if he does attend."
Do you agree that Meghan Markle will skip King Charles' coronation and let Prince Harry fly to the U.K. alone?
