Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have made several attacks against the royal family. Princess Diana's former butler weighed in on the issue and shared the late royal's potential reaction to her youngest son's actions.
Princess Diana Would Want Prince Harry To Keep Quiet, Royal Butler Claims
Paul Burrell spoke with Dan Wootton on GB News after the release of Prince Harry's memoir Spare. According to him, Princess Diana would not be happy with what the Duke of Sussex was doing.
"She would be devastated. Harry is wrong," Burrell said. "Harry is viewing this through the eyes of an 11-year-old boy whose heart broke when his mother died."
"I lived with his mother in her adult years. I can tell you what she would think and feel now. She would say, 'Harry be quiet because you've done enough damage. Your job was to support your brother on his way to be king and to be there for him."
He added that Princess Diana would want Prince Harry to support his big brother, Prince William. The late Princess of Wales reportedly thought her youngest son would always be there for the future king and help the latter in his role.
Former Royal Staffer Can't Forgive Prince Harry
Prince Harry made several allegations in his book. He also mentioned Burrell and claimed he used his mom's death to make money.
"I loved his mother very much and I'm devoted to her memory," Burrell said. "And devoted to the memory of our late queen. Harry knows that, Harry knows me. He's grown up with me."
"If he had something to say to me, why couldn't he have called me and told me that he wasn't happy with me? Why did he have to put it in a book? I just don't understand his tactics."
Burrell said he understood what Prince Harry was feeling but subjecting his own family to public humiliation was not the answer. He also called out Markle's husband to stop attacking the royals.
"I do sympathize with Harry, I do know what happened to him. I saw it happen myself but I cannot forgive him for what he's doing right now," he continued. "So stop it, Harry. Stop it."
