Pedro Pascal admitted recently that he is horrified by his clean-shaven look in Wonder Woman 1984, and it made him avoid that style again in other acting roles.

Before joining the MCU as Reed Richards, Pascal played fan-favorite villain Maxwell Lord in the DCEU film Wonder Woman 1984. While the sequel was not favorably received by critics and fans, Pascal's antagonistic turn was still praised. However, there were also debates on whether the actor's signature mustache should have been kept in the film or not.

Speaking with The Fantastic Four: First Steps co-star Vanessa Kirby in LADbible’s Agree to Disagree video series (via Variety), Pascal revealed that he feels horrified that he was clean-shaven in Wonder Woman 1984.

While he had a good experience playing Maxwell Lord in the film, the clean-shaven look made him not go back to that look again in other projects since then.

"I grow such sh** facial hair, but if I were to shave it all off... I really look very [awful]. Strongly disagree with a clean-shaven me," Pascal said.

"I was so appalled by the way I look in Wonder Woman 1984. I loved the movie, but I was so appalled by the way that I looked that I never have gone back unless it were completely necessary."

Pascal added, "If they asked me to be clean-shaven for Fantastic Four and insisted, then I would’ve done it. But it was a very collaborative creation for all of our looks in the movie."

The Emmy-nominated actor's tenure in the DCEU as Maxwell Lord was a one-and-done since he was not invited to reprise the role in the franchise again.

What's Next for Pedro Pascal in the Comic Book World?

As everyone knows now, Pascal is back in the comic book world to play the key role of Reed Richards/Mister Fantastic in the new MCU film The Fantastic Four: First Steps.

Set against the vibrant backdrop of a 1960s-inspired, retro-futuristic world, The Fantastic Four: First Steps introduces Marvel’s First Family (Reed Richards/Mister Fantastic, Sue Storm/Invisible Woman, Johnny Storm/Human Torch, and Ben Grimm/The Thing) as they face their most daunting challenge yet.

Aside from Pascal and Kirby, the cast also includes Joseph Quinn, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Ralph Ineson, Julia Garner, Paul Walter Hauser, Natasha Lyonne, and Sarah Niles.

Pascal is expected to reprise the role again in Avengers: Doomsday next year, making him one of the faces of the MCU in the current phase of the franchise.
