Some beloved characters from the previous season of the popular Starz series will return in the upcoming Outlander Season 7.
Although there have been significant alterations over the course of the show's run, Outlander mostly adheres to the main plots of the books. Each season is based on one of the novels by author Diana Gabaldon. There is a lot of fresh material emerging regarding future episodes, as Season 7 is currently in production.
Outlander Season 7 Teases the Return of Familiar Faces
Six beloved characters from previous seasons of the drama Outlander will return for Season 7, according to Deadline.
"One of the many joys of our epic story is the element of time travel which allows us to revisit some of our favorite characters in different times and places, and we're thrilled to welcome back so many familiar faces for season seven," executive producer Matthew B. Roberts teased.
Graham McTavish will reprise his role as Jamie's uncle, Dougal MacKenzie, alongside Steven Cree as Old Ian Murray, Andrew Whipp as Jamie's father, Nell Hudson as Laoghaire Fraser, Layla Burns as Joan MacKimmie, Marsali's sister and Jamie's stepdaughter, and Lotte Verbeek as Geillis Duncan, Claire's former friend-turned-enemy and
New Faces in Outlander Season 7
While a shorter Season 6 earned mixed reviews from both reviewers and fans, it will be intriguing to see how closely Outlander Season 7 adheres to the books.
In addition to the returning cast members, Outlander Season 7 will introduce a handful of new characters. Gloria Obianyo as Mercy Woodcock, a free Black woman attempting to deal with all of Colonial America's difficulties and threats; Rod Hallett as Benedict Arnold, the famous Revolutionary soldier turned traitor; Diarmaid Murtagh as Buck MacKenzie, Dougal MacKenzie and Geillis Duncan's illegitimate son and Roger's ancestor; and Kristin Atherton as Jenny Murray, Jamie's sister and Young Ian's mother.
Starz has not yet finalized the release date of Outlander Season 7, but fans should anticipate an announcement in early 2023.
